Tuyuhikari Kabuse Sencha

Tuyuhikari is known for its rich taste and aroma. Kabuse tea gets a sweeter taste and a stronger umami taste thanks to the increased amount of L-theanine in the tea leaves compared to regular Sencha. This is achieved through a cultivation method where the tea plants are covered with a material that reduces sunlight. Kabuse means "to cover" and this process is usually carried out 10-14 days before harvest.
